My Trail Thus Far
Day 4 (!) on the Mindanao trail, and I find myself in a familiar city with a familiar luxury - Cagayan de Oro and internet access! And a familiar companion who just arrived in from Surigao with duct-tape sunning tattoos, 12 thousand island bracelets...and...what the heck...corn rows?!Got to have a wonderful dinner last night with long-"lost" cousins, who are confirmation that we indeed possess a "cool" set of genes. Funny how chismis in Cebuano is as pleasurable as gossip in Ilocano or Tagalog (and as yummy too, since it's ALWAYS conducted over a dining table of some sort). Then over lunch touched base with an old college friend/family friend and her suddenly-gargantuan-super-pogi son, who used to stand 3-feet tall the last time I saw him a couple of years ago. Now he's three feet TALLER than his tita!
Ok then, I should be off. Done checking my mail - thanks Amats and Daisy for that lovely testimonial! - and the Super Ferry scheds (need to get back to Manila soon, after all; how soon - now that's a good question), and the corn-rowed one is probably done with his bath and laundry, so it's back to the trail! Onwards to Bukidnon (or so I hope!) tomorrow; but I suppose Davao is a long shot at this point. Tsk, tsk, the travails of travel. :-P
