Back In The Groove?
There’s a pedestrian overpass across Julia Vargas Avenue, from the Amberland and IBP Buildings to Emerald Avenue and the El Pueblo Compound. Not that there’s anything special about it - it's just that I never noticed they'd built that thing. It’s been ages since I last trod the streets of Ortigas Center...in heels. It seems like an eternity since I last worked behind an office desk. It's been a long time since I was in a serious business meeting. But these last few days, I've surprisingly had several meetings, one after another, with different people on different projects, from a phasing-in orientation to an intense powwow on volunteer policy and guidelines with the equally I-mean-business Amats (a.k.a. "3D," but I don't dare call him that when he's on duty, hee hee), to a legal consultation tomorrow. What's going on??
Neyney calls its getting "back in the groove," but I feel like I'm dancing to a completely different beat, baby. I like to think of it as a Divine curveball - without the negative connotation - inasmuch as everything seemed to be harmoniously leading in one direction and then, suddenly, the rollercoaster tracks began to change and shift. I must admit that all these new and (almost) totally unexpected endeavors are pretty thrilling, because all of them involve, on different levels, the exercise of creative muscle (except perhaps the legal project, but what the heck) I've been long raring to flex. Plus additional and potentially daunting responsibility (only those closest to me know about this - let's just say it's a voluntary foray back into corporate Manila *say whut?*) that I agreed to take on for personal and, shall we say, purposeful reasons. It's an exciting time, without a doubt. I just hope I will never be too busy to go home to BC. :-)
