Bibliophile
1. One book that changed your lifeCalled By Name, by Robert Furey. Next to the Bible, it was a real eye-opener; after reading it, I really began to focus on what I truly was called to do. And then I started doing it.
2. One book you have read more than once
The Bible. Aw, ok, since this is going to be my obvious stock answer (it's my answer to the next question), I'll say Weeds Among The Wheat by Father Thomas Green. I've read many books more than once - Sophie's World, The Alchemist, Edith Hamilton's Mythology, my law textbooks (for Bar review!) - but I find myself reading my books on discernment (like Weeds, Called By Name, and right now Peter Kreeft's Making Choices) over and again (Kreeft for the third time), in different times of my life, and with different realizations each time.
3. One book you would want on a desert island
The Bible. And The Idiot's Guide to Building A Raft.
4. One book that made you laugh
Out loud ha. David Sedaris' Me Talk Pretty One Day. Priceless.
5. One book that made you cry
Every single book about or by Mother Teresa. In My Own Words, Loving Jesus, One Heart Full Of Love, etc.
6. One book you wish had been written
The Fool-Proof Guide To The Male Brain
7. One book you wish had never been written
The New Internal Revenue Code of the Philippines.
8. One book you are currently reading
It Must Have Been Something I Ate by Jeffrey Steingarten. Also, for professional purposes, Fernandez' Law of Mass Media, Food Service and Bartending, and A Bride's Book.
9. One book you have been meaning to read
Janis Spindel's Get Serious About Getting Married. Seriously. I was barely two chapters into it when I got too busy doing other stuff. Guess I haven't been taking it as seriously as I should, huh. Give me Sedaris any time.
